Marina

Serenity on the water

Our marina

The beautifully scenic OBC marina is something of which to be proud.  Stage I opened in 1994 and Stage II went operational in 1997. Since then we've become a landmark for Auckland boaties and fishermen. The marina consists of 213 berths ranging from 10.5m to 16m in length.

There are four sizes of marina berths:

10.5m x 4.3m

12m x 4.7m

14m x 5.0m

16m x 5.3m

Important things to note:

  • Purchase or rent is by negotiation with the individual marina berth licence holder(s) however, the Club Office needs to be advised of any changes in leasee/ownership.  All leasees and prospective berth holders must be club members.
  • OBC marina is for recreational only purposes.
  • Facilities we provide include power, water, sewerage pump-out station, security and fuel.
  • Dedicated marina parking.
  • Auxiliary outboard wash unit provided.
  • Please note, living on board is not permitted.
  • Emergency pump available.

All marina occupants must complete a Marina Agreement form available here or from the OBC Office.

The Ngapipi Estuary Bridge height and tides can be a problem for larger boats. Gap Calculation Chart click here.

At all times movement through the bridge is the sole responsibility of the vessel skipper.

BRIDGE CLEARANCE CALCULATOR

Developed by a member, this mobile website pulls LINZ tide data for Auckland and uses the rule of twelfths to calculate bridge gaps. It also references the OBC PDF page link itself for bridge gaps to guide gap estimates. Tests against the OBC tables seem to be within a couple of centimetres of the OBC results.

As at April 2026 it is under BETA testing.  Please provide feedback to Adrian via events@obc.co.nz

Access here: https://gorillabananas.github.io/bridge-clearance-calculator/

Note / safety: Always double-check results against OBC bridge clearance tables before passage. Use at your own risk.

If you want to get easy access to the mobile website the simplest way to use it like an app is to (iPhone only):

  • Click on the link provided to get the the mobile website for the bridge clearance tool;
  • While on the mobile website go to the menu bar at the very bottom of the screen and choose the ‘share’ option (look under the three dots at the bottom of the screen)
  • When presented with the options scroll down and find the option ‘add to Home Screen’.

This will add the bookmark to the next vacant spot on your Home Screen and appear like an ‘app’. So when you want to use it again later you can just scroll to that location on your Home Screen and then hit the saved link and it will open the page (assuming you have internet coverage). Android phone users will no doubt have a similar option
