A 'proposer' fills out the form on behalf of the applicant. Follow this link to print this form.
2. Send in the form with two letters of support
The first letter is from the proposer and the second letter from the seconder. Preferably they will be members. Forward the Nomination for Membership along with two letters of support from current OBC Members to OBC Administration, P O Box 42056, Orakei for approval and acceptance by the Commodore and the Executive Committee at a monthly meeting.
3. Acceptance and payment
New Members will be advised of acceptance in writing and a payment form will be included covering the Entrance Fee and Membership Subscription due at that time for the financial year. Follow this link for fee structure.
4. Attend a New Members night
New Members are required to attend a New Members familiarisation evening which is held on the second Tuesday of each month, excluding January at 7.30pm. This evening covers aspects of Club history, social functions and boating safety. Duration of 1 ½ hours approximately. Follow this link for the next New Members night.
5. Boat inspection
The member’s vessel and trailer is required to be submitted for a Vessel Inspection. All vessels are required to have passed this inspection prior to any launching and retrieving in the Club grounds. Inspections are by appointment on Saturday mornings between 8.30am and 10.30am excluding Public Holidays. The vessel inspection should take approximately ½ hour. Bookings are essential as inspections are carried out by Voluntary Inspectors. Follow this link for the latest inspection form.
6. Member's Monthly Meeting
Soon after completing the inspection, the member will receive an invitation to attend a Member's General Meeting to meet with the Commodore and Executive Committee.
