OBC ANNUAL FAMILY COMPETITION 2009
Capacity Crowd
The Annual OBC Family Fishing Competition took place on Saturday 7th March 2009. This is the biggest event on the Club Calendar and was again well supported by our excellent sponsors who continually amaze the organising group and members with the donated prizes that they provide. OBC members are asked to support these sponsors in turn. Without Sponsors there would be no competition. The children were well catered for with prizes sponsored by Culley Plumbing. This year Mark Culley arranged a Fishing Extravaganza Prize for those member's children who forwarded photos of fish caught during the last year up to 1st March. All photos received that complied with the rules went into a draw which was announced on the big day.
The winner of the trip to Fiji for a family of 2 adults and 2 children went to Nicole Kelly. (Father Kelly was thrilled and lost his voice for a few days!! Nicole says he has to be on his best behaviour in order that he accompany her to Fiji.)
A variety of beverages and food were provided. Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust's simulator and children's joy ride helicopter were also on site plus an inflatable bouncy castle for the 'Under 5's' and the Adrenalin Run for the 'Over 5's" were also arranged. Coffee Systems provided free Jungle Coffee to adults present. With the kids well supervised and occupied the parents were able to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful afternoon. Again our MC "Capt Swish" Bruce Duncan will do a fabulous job and ensured nothing was overlooked.
