Bill loves his boating, especially since his retirement from the
Packaging Industry in 2014.
He and wife, Elsa have a Jeanneau NC11 on Marina G10.
In 2015/16 Bill was deeply involved in the process to change
Marina Governance from a Statutory Supervisor to 3 Trustees. As a
result he was elected to Marina Trustee. With that experience, Bill
felt he could make a greater contribution to OBC through the
Executive Committee. Successfully elected in 2017, Bill
resigned his Marina Trustee position.
Bill provided support to Brian and Derek in the Blue Flag
Environmental application. He is keen that we care for the OBC
environment, so our future offspring inherit an OBC facility that
has demonstrated commitment to environmental responsibility and
that all OBC members are involved, so our "clean" record is second
Bill has been open about his view that all MBLH's (Marina
owners) should be members of the OBC (as of Sept 2017 approx. 50%
are). The history as why this has occurred is clear, but time has
moved on and he sees the advantage's to OBC and MBLH's as being
Bill is keen to ensure the interests of all OBC members are
considered and protected, that proper process is followed and that
the future of OBC is sustainable. The OBC in it's entirety is a
unique facility and we must look after it.
